26 July 2010 - Visit to Derby

We could not believe how much we have in common!

Unfortunately Derbyshire were not playing at home but I went later in the day to Trent Bridge to see Nottinghamshire win through to the Twenty20 quarter finals.

Well, what can I say? I am afraid that there is no photograph as we were all so busy chatting that we forgot to take one!
As always this was a very enjoyable meeting with President Paul Clements and his team.
Sorry Paul, I will make sure that we have a photograph at your Charter!

20 July 2010 Joint evening meeting of Amber Valley and Ripley


Another really good joint meeting which the members of both clubs enjoyed.
Anyone who did not want to hear me speak could have gone line dancing in the room next door!
It was interesting that a variety of puddings arrived for us all to swap!

20 July 2010 Inner Wheel District 22 Induction meeting



The Mansfield Civic Centre was full for the District 22 Inner Wheel Induction of Chairman Elaine Harrison.
The Inner Wheel members do a fantastic amount of work both locally and internationally which I believe does not receive the recognition it deserves.
I look foward to bringing our two organisations closer together.

Joint club meeting of Retford, Worksop and Worksop Dukeries

A large gathering of over 70 people ftrom the three clubs heard a presentation from the Elizabethan High School, Retford about their project in Africa.

Marion and the "Quilt makers" presented a cheque for £2,500 for the Polio Eradication campaign. It was a really good evening.
